Our Fourth Annual Meeting
The Third Annual Meeting in 2007 at Mohican was a success, so we're planning to return there again in 2008. The dates will be Friday, May 16 through Sunday, May 18. For now, reservations are open for members only. Of course, there's nothing to stop you from joining, and then signing up for the conference.
Mohican is one of Ohio's most significant sites for breeding birds. About 24 species of warblers breed there annually, including many rare species associated with the pristine, old-growth hemlock ravines, like Canada Warbler. Over 100 sprecies of breeding birds nest in Mohican each year, including many noteworthy boreal breeders like Winter Wren and Hermit Thrush. There will still be plenty of migrants passing through, too, so the overall conference will be a big one.
