Hello Birders and bird watchers,
We have lost our only pair of Northern Cardinals.
This past summer the male cardinal had got mites bad and did not survive this condition we think he passed away and his mate left
we have lived here for 8 years.
We have been trying to attract other cardinals to our feeders with no success.
At our feeders we offer black oil sunflower seeds, suet and a wild bird seed mix + water it has been 5 months.
Over the years our cardinal had been fighting off other rival cardinals defending their territory.
They had many broods over the years and would bring them to our feeders now we have none what can we do to get more cardinals.
They are greatly missed.

Try dried corn on the cob or cracked corn spread loosely on the ground.
You could always try call blasting to attract them into your yard....
