Black Vultures

I didn't know where to post this and this seemed as good a place as any.  Has anyone seen Black Vultures in Ohio? or Know how far North in the State they have been spotted?  I just shooed my 8 chickens back into their run because what I believed were Turkey Vultures seemed a little too brazen. Flying lower into my yard and toward the hens. There were about 5 of them and I didn't have my glasses on so even the Turkey Vultures look black to me. Even the dog was barking at them. I'm in Union Co. Just wondering if it was possible.

Re: Black Vultures

yes, its very possible in Union County. Black Vultures are more common in the southern half of the state roughly, but they have been seen in the northern half as well. They have shorter tails than Turkey Vultures, very short and squared off and should be noticeable.
