OBBA II Volunteers:

Just another quick reminder about making some big contributions as we get towards the end of the season. The amount of data that have been submitted so far this year is great, and most blocks now have some level of coverage. All priority blocks have data, and there are only about 400 blocks (out of 4,437) without any submitted records.

Though its possible (and encouraged!) to continue your atlasing efforts through August, many species have safe dates that end on July 31 (this Saturday). I have attached a PDF with a map that shows the remaining data-less blocks, and a list of the blocks. If you’re looking for a fun challenge this week, we would love for you to seek out some empty blocks and give them some data!

It could be a good opportunity to look for some of the species that Paul and I mentioned in emails earlier this week. Additionally, Eastern Screech Owls may respond well to playback.

Please feel free to contact us if you would like more information on particular areas or blocks.

Good luck, and happy birding!

~Matt
