Special Thanks

This web site, and the Ohio Ornithological Society, would not have been possible without the help of some very special people. Thank You!

Additional Resources

Although we hope that this web site provides some useful resources for Ohio birders, there are many more sources of information available.

  • Our Partners: One of the best resources is to contact your local birding and conservation organizations. Many outstanding groups have chosen to become organizational members of the O.O.S. This section provides links to, and information about, those groups.

  • Bibliography: Bill Whan has compiled a comprehensive bibliography of published works on Ohio ornithology and birding.

  • Birder's Library: Bill has also prepared a summary of the materials that are most useful to an Ohio birder.

  • Historic Documents: We have reproduced the text from some early, often difficult to find, publications on Ohio ornithology.

  • Links: Last, but certainly not least, we present links to as much online birding information as we could find. You can spend a virtually unlimited amount of your time reading about birding online, instead of getting outside and actually finding birds.
